ROHR offers floating grab dredges, land based and floating bucket ladder dredges equipped with the approved Rohr System, Rohr underwater motor grab -Pike or -Whale, friction drums ("Hurricanes") as well as floating conveyor belts acc. to Rohr standards.
Two types of dredges. The 15 cbm catamaran floating grab dredge with a dredging capacity of 550 cbm/h and the floating bucket ladder dredge KS 250 with a dredging capacity of up to 380 cbm/h.
Reconstruction, repair and upgrading of own installations as well as those of all reknown manufacturers and a vast maintenance and spare parts service are also part of the scope of supply and services.
The company's modern production facilities in Mannheim are equipped with two gantry cranes of 35 t carrying capacity each. At the moment, the production facilities house a floating bucket ladder dredge KS 250 under construction. Three installations of closed design, one of type RS 10.0/360 Bf and two RS 8.0/280 Bf as well a catamaran dredge RS 8.0/320 Pf are just being assembled at customer sites or are ready for start-up.
In the range of floating grab dredges, the company offers either luffing-jib dredges as well as gantry and catamaran-type dredges. Upon request, they can be equipped with the patented grab diagnostics system. This system provides information about dredging capacity, tilting angle, depth, opening and closing pressure as well as oil pressure and -temperature. This information is available on the industrial computer's screen in real-time.
ROHR Bagger GmbH is the manufacturer of one of the world's largest gantry-type system; it has two 15 cbm grabs and is located in California. One of the largest catamaran-type dredges was also built by ROHR. It is equipped with a 15 cbm grab as well and works in the southern part of Alsace/East of France.
All dredging installations can be equipped with frequency controlled drives; they are equipped with a Siemens-S7 control.
Up to now, Rohr has delivered about 100 bucket ladder dredges and more than 150 floating grab dredges of various types. Today, they service about 500 installations worldwide.
As a special machine, the Hurricane serves for rounding broken stones and dissolving impurities and weary rock in gravel. This machine has already been successfully employed in tunnel construction for the preparation of stone from tunnel walls.
